About Urban Retreat Onsen Spa Sunway 163 Mall
Urban Retreat Onsen Spa is on the second floor of Sunway 163 Mall (formerly 163 Retail Park) on Jalan Kiara, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. It soft-launched in February 2019 and officially opened in June 2019, and press coverage at the time described it as Malaysia's first private onsen spa.
Instead of a shared bath, each guest has a private bathing room with a single tub made from Japanese hinoki wood. Mineral bath salts are offered in three blends, Zen, Kirei and Iyashi, and the water can be set at about 40 or 42 degrees Celsius. Onsen sessions can be booked on their own or paired with a massage or body treatment.
The massage menu at this Mont Kiara spa includes full body and deep tissue massage, lymphatic massage, pregnancy massage and a hair cream bath with massage, and couples spa sessions are also offered. It suits people who want a quiet, private soak with or without a massage.
